The IPad Will Change the World and Everybody in It

Lots of attention is being paid to Apple's latest iPod (the iPad), but if you're looking for a slate tablet that browses the full internet (Flash and all), Fusion Garage's JooJoo would be a great internet tablet to have in your gadget arsenal.

JooJoo is an African term for magical and the Fusion Garage JooJoo internet tablet is just that - magical that is. The JooJoo internet tablet is just what it sounds like; a slate computer for browsing the internet - but the way it browses the internet is what makes it special. Unlike the Apple iPad (due to "beef" with Microsoft and Adobe), the Fusion Garage JooJoo tablet supports both Silverlight and Flash player support and can play YouTube in full 1080p.

If the iPad is just a bigger iPod Touch, the JooJoo is an even bigger iPad with a 12.1" display (as big as a netbooks) and a 1366x766 resolution. The Apple iPad has a 9.7" display which gives it two and a half inch disadvantage for those looking for a bigger screen for internet browsing. Fusion Garage's JooJoo takes lots of notes from netbooks and is just as thin (screen-wise) and has minimal features on its interface. Compared to the iPad the JooJoo seems a bit too big and impractical for carrying around on the go - after all, where would you store this huge thing?

Apple's iPad can do lots more than the JooJoo but the JooJoo does a good job at satisfying internet enthusiasts. The Fusion Garage JooJoo's interface is loaded with icons of your favorite social media sites (facebook, Twitter, MySpace, Digg, etc.) and has full internet surfing capabilities (unlike the iPad). JooJoo also has USB 2.0 input, supports an external keyboard or mouse, has an inbuilt webcam and even supports a Bluetooth headset.

If you're looking for more than just an internet browser, the iPad would be a better choice with its inbuilt OS X support, MP3 player, ebook support, and brighter screen. The Apple iPad lets its 3G version owners browse the internet for only $30 a month with no contracts, while the JooJoo supports Wi-Fi and is rumored to feature support for broadband cards, but nothing is set in stone. Even though the JooJoo is bigger physically, it only has a 4GB solid state drive internally (and no expansion capabilities), compared to iPad's biggest 64GB models.

The Fusion Garage JooJoo is set for preorder at $499.99 just like the Wi-Fi 16GB Apple iPad. There is room for both the iPad and JooJoo on the market, but internet browsing will more than likely be better using the Fusion Garage JooJoo internet tablet.
